A bottle of Gatorade he got from a firefighter while he was on the street sparked his desire.

As a 10-year-old, Dyllon Ryser was homeless after his parents divorced. Today, he is an Ogden firefighter.

With two older brothers and a younger sister, Ryser told KSL News 10 that they had trouble getting into homeless shelters, so they lived on the streets in Salt Lake City.

Then, one day, a local firefighter made a small gesture that stuck with Ryser.

"He gave me a Gatorade drink and I knew right then that I wanted to be a firefighter," he told News 10.
